DE: Guten Morgen ihr Lieben! Zwei Posts in einer Woche??? Was ist denn in dich gefahren, Bianca? Nun ja, es ist mal wieder der erste Samstag im Monat was natürlich bedeutet, dass mein Projekt Für den Minerva Crafts Blogger Network, fällig ist. Für den April wollte ich eigentlich den Abi Jumpsuit von Athina Kakou nähen, und habe mir daher diesen Romanit ausgesucht, den Minerva Crafts mir im Zuge dieser Kooperation, zur Verfügung gestellt hat. Ich den Stoff dann in den Händen hatte, war mir klar, dass es ziemlich anstrengend werden würde, das Ebenbild des Musters an den Beinen und Schritt und an den Seiten und am Wickeloberteil anzugleichen und habe mich dann doch lieber für das neue Suzy Kleid von Athina Kakou entschieden.
EN: Good morning, everyone! Spring is finally here to stay (or at least I hope it is!). When I chose my fabric for this make, I was pretty sure, that it was still going to be freezing and possibly snowing, which is why I wanted to make the Athina Kakou Abi Jumpsuit . However, the beautiful Hounds tooth Ponte arrived, I decided that it was a lot of print for a jumpsuit! Also, I was really worried about matching up the print on the wrap bodice and the trousers and the waist and the back…you get the idea.And before I started tearing out my hair, Athina Kakou went and released her brand new dress pattern, the Suzy Dress . “Now that’s an effortless pattern I can get behind”, I thought to myself. The dress, a simple sheath style dress with a mock wrap skirt, waist tie and a choice of a boat neck or scoop neckline is really quick and easy to make up. It looks really stylish in a plain color and fun in a print – and it definitely falls in the secret pajama category!
DE: Ich habe mich für den U-Boot ausschnitt entschieden, da er mir persönlich besser gefällt und habe die Größe 12 gewählt. Der Stoff ist ziemlich stabil, daher habe ich die Schultern nicht mit stabilisiert und habe das Oberteil vollständig mit meiner Overlock genäht. Achtung, der Stoff ist recht dick, du wirst mit Sicherheit deine Einstellungen an deiner Overlock etwas anpassen müssen. Das Halsband ließ sich problemlos, beim ersten Mal einnähen, sowas finde ich grundsätzlich immer lobenswert! =)
EN: I went with the boat neck neckline, which I prefer to the scoop neck and cut out a straight size 12. Assembling the top was a real breeze. As the ponte is quite stable I didn’t bother with sewing clear elastic or ribbon into the shoulders. I did however use my serger to sew up the bodice and just to give you a heads up, you might have to adjust the tension, as the fabric is quite thick. The neckband went in on the first try, which I always love! There is nothing worse than unpicking a serged neckline… it is the worst!
DE: Die einzige Anpassung die ich an diesem Kleid gemacht habe, ist das Halsband nach innen zu klappen und es von außen knappkantig fest zu steppen. Der Stoff ist, wie oben erwähnt, sehr stabil, und stand an den Seiten etwas hervor. Ich habe versucht das Problem mit dem Dampf meines Bügeleisens in den Griff zu bekommen, leider ohne wünschenswertes Ergebnis. Ich finde, meine Lösung eigentlich recht gut. Ich denke, wenn ich das Kleid noch einmal nähe, werde ich einen Beleg dafür konstruieren. Weitere Details findet ihr übrigens hier, jedoch nur auf Englisch. EN: The only adjustment I made to this dress, was the neckline. The ponte, as mentioned is quite stable, and the neckband kind of stuck out at the sides and no amount of steam made it lie flat. I decided to fold the neckline inside the dress and topstitch it in place, and think it looks just as good. I think if I make another version of this dress, I’d draft a facing for a clean finish. Es ist schon eine Weile her, seitdem ich einen Blogpost geschrieben habe, aber ich war in den letzten 3 Wochen, sowohl dienstlich in England, als auch in Ostfriesland auf einer Hochzeit was natürlich bedeutet, dass ich für längere Zeit von meiner Nähmaschine getrennt war. Ich hatte zwar in den Wochen davor viel genäht, aber die Sachen darf ich euch leider noch nicht zeigen, da sie noch nicht von den jeweiligen Designern auf dem Markt gebracht worden sind. DE: Kommen wir also zu meinem zweitem Myosotis Kleid von Deer und Doe! Der Stoff stammt vom Birmingham Rag Market, gekauft habe ich ihn vor 2 Wochen als ich mit einigen von meinen Nähfreundinen vor Ort war. Ich werde nicht lügen, es sind an dem Tag 13 neue Stoffe und fast 30 Meter Stoff in meinem Koffer gewandert…den ich im Herbst in Kleidungsstücke vernähen möchte. Den Koffer habe ich zum Glück noch zu bekommen und musste dieses Mal nicht 4 Meter Viskose als Schal verwenden. LOL!! Der Stoff war der teuerste, den ich an dem Tag gekauft gatte… ganze 5 GBP pro Meter (ihr dürft lachen!) Da ich 3 Meter verwendet habe, hat mich das ganze Kleid 15 Pfund gekostet und ich muss sagen das waren wohl die besten 15 Pfund, die ich dieses Jahr ausgegeben habe.
EN: Let’s get down to business with my second Myosotis Dress from Deer and Doe. I bought the fabric at the Birmingham Rag Market 2 weeks ago, where I was also able to meet up with some of my lovely sewing friend. I’m not going to lie, I bought 13 pieces of fabric and added nearly 30 meters of fabric to my stash, that I would like to turn into garments in autumn. I was however, able to close my suitcase and didn’t have to disguise 4 meters of viscose… as a scarf again. LOL! Anyway, this Broderie Anglaise was the most expensive fabric I bought that day, costing whopping 5 GBP a meter (you may laugh now!) Since I purchased 3 Meters, making this dress cost me exactly 15 quid, which is probably the best 15 quid I spent this year!!
DE: Genäht habe ich den Schnitt in Größe 38, ich habe das Oberteil um 2 Zoll verlängert und habe wieder selbst konstruierte Bänder an den Seiten angenäht um meine Taille zu betonen. Bei den Ärmel habe ich mit einer kleinen spitzen Schere die Spitze vorsichtig ausgeschnitten und ich ärgere mich immer noch, dass ich nicht so weitsichtig war, beim Rock Volant auch das gleich Stück Stoff zu verwenden um mir das versäumen zu ersparen. Leider ist mir das erst eingefallen, als ich alles ausgeschnitten habe und ich hatte dann nicht mehr genug Stoff vorhanden um die Teile ein weiteres Mal auszuschneiden. SEUFZ!
EN: Like my first version, I chose to sew up in the pattern in a size 38 and lengthened the bodice by 2 inches. I also added ties on the side to bring the dress in a bit. I also used a pair of sharp embroidery scissors to cut out the scallop edge of the sleeves and am still kicking myself, that it didn’t think to do the same for the flounce of the skirt… which would have saved me the time of hemming it! Unfortunately, I realized the potential for this, after I had cut out all the pieces and then didn’t have enough fabric to recut the flounce… LE SIGH
DE: Der Stoff ist sehr leicht, weshalb ich das Oberteil, die Ärmel und den Rock mit butterweichem, weißem Baumwollbatist von Like Sew Amazing gefüttert habe. Die Volants für die Ärmel und den Rock habe ich nicht gefüttert, das lag zum einen daran, dass mir der Batist ausgegangen ist aber auch daran das ich es für unnötig hielt. Die Knöpfe stammen aus meinem Lager, die habe ich mal auf Ebay ersteigert, glaube ich zumindest. Die Säume habe ich mit meiner Overlock versäubert, die in den letzten Wochen so zickig war, das ich nach jedem Saum die Maschine neu einfädeln musste. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
EN: The fabric is quite sheer, which is why I chose to underline it with some super soft, white lawn from Like Sew Amazing. I didn’t underline the sleeve and skirt flounce, because I ran out of fabric and also really didn’t see the point to be very honest. The buttons are from my stash, I think I won them in an Ebay auction a few years ago. I finished the seams of the dress with my very temperamental serger… she’s currently so temperamental that I had to rethread the machine after every seam that I finished. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
DE: Da ich der Sommer auch weiterhin anhält, war es glaube ich gar nicht so schlecht, dieses Kleid noch auf dem letzten Drücker zu nähen. Ich habe außerdem meinen Sommerurlaub in den Oktober verlegt (OH GOTT IST DAS NOCH LANGE HIN!!) und werde dann in etwas wärme Temperaturen reisen, wo es sich dann anbietet dieses Kleid mitzunehmen. EN: Since summer seems to hang around for a little bit longer, it wasn’t my worst idea to knock out one last summer dress. I’m also taking my annual leave in October (OMG!!! THAT’S STILL SOOOOO FAR OFF!) where I will be travelling to warmer climates and will definitely be bringing this dress along. DE: Guten Morgen ihr Lieben! Es ist Dienstag und ich bin noch ziemlich kaputt vom letzten Wochenende, da wir die Hochzeit von Freunden in Köln gefeiert haben und der Abend wurde dann unheimlich lang! Auch habe ich den Longdrink „Moscow Mule“ entdeckt und muss jetzt herausfinden, wie ich den selbst daheim zusammen mische. MOVE OVER PIMMS! Weshalb ich die Hochzeit überhaupt erwähne: Ich hatte das heute Kleid, Gia von Vickie Sews, speziell für diesen Anlass genäht, es dann aber nicht angezogen, weil es dann doch wenig „too much“ war. Das ist aber nicht schlimm, es stehen noch einige Anderen Anläse diesen Sommer an!
DE: Fangen wir von vorne an, vor einigen Woche hatte ein jemand den ich auf Instagram folge in ihrer IG Story auf diverse Russische Indie Schnittmuster Labels aufmerksam gemacht und ich konnte gar nicht fassen wie toll die Kleidungsstücke waren. Schnell abonnierte ich den Account von

EN: I sent the copy shop file to my favorite copy shop and was rather impressed, when I received the pattern in my mailbox, that the 1cm seam allowance was marked with its own line on very single pattern piece. I added 1,5cm on both the sides of the front and back bodice AND skirt pieces (at the waist ) I graded the new line into the original line over a 6cm distance (are you still following me?!?) To make sure that the dress would actually fit me, I first sewed a lining dress out of the softest cotton lawn, from Like Sew Amazing and was very impressed by the fit of the dress!!! The linen I chose for the shell is from my last business trip to Turin.
EN: Construction wise, it took me about 1.5 hours to put the dress together. I used my rolled hem foot for the flounce on the skirt, I really should use this foot more often! I shortened the straps by 3 cm, which is almost a bit too much, and I hand sewed the hem of the lining dress to the hem of the shell. VOILA, GIA IS DONE! If you’re still reading this post, you will probably be aware how utterly impressed I am of this Indie Pattern Label, I’ve already downloaded two other patterns and discovered, that VickieSews also offers online courses for coats and Trench coats! I watched the trailer for the trench coat and have added it to my NEED TO SEW FOR AUTUMN list….you know, once this never ending heatwave finally passes.
EN: I hope other sewists will give this pattern company a go. As someone who doesn’t speak Russian, I can promise you, that putting this dress together using the excellent photo instructions and the google translate app, was very straight forward. Wishing you all a great start to the new week!

DE: Ich habe die Größe 10 gewählt und das Kleid um 2 Inch verlängert, auf den Modellbildern kam mir das Kleid etwas kurz vor und ich wollte es gerne in die Arbeit anziehen. An der Passform habe ich sonst nichts ändern müssen. Die ¾ Ärmel gefallen mir auch sehr gut, und machen das Kleid schon sehr wintertauglich. Ich habe einen Krepp-Stoff von Stoff und Stil verwendet, den ich letzten Dezember, als meine Freundin Victoria mich besucht hat, gekauft habe. Ich glaube, das nächste Mal werde ich dafür einen etwas festeren Krepp verwenden oder vielleicht eine festere Baumwolle.
EN: I made up the dress in a size 10 and lengthened the hem by 2 inches, as the dress looked a bit short on Lisa and I really wanted to be able to wear the dress at the office. I didn’t make any other adjustments to the dress. I really like the ¾ sleeves, that make the dress quite winter appropriate. I used a lovely crepe from Stoff and Stil, that I bought in December, when my friend Victoria was over for a visit. I think I might use a triple crepe next time or thicker cotton as I feel that the fabric I chose is a bit too thin.
DE: Ich finde die Känguru Taschen sind fast einen ticken zu tief, oder vielleicht bilde ich mir das nur ein… solltest du diesen Schnitt nachnähen dann kann ich dir nur raten bei den Taschen bis zu dem markierten Punkt zu nähen!!!! (FRAG MICH NICHT WIESO!!!) Ich möchte Zoe in ein paar Uni-Farben nähen, da ich denke, dass man das gut in die Arbeit anziehen kann und es recht schick mit dunkler Strumpfhose und Pumps aussieht. Ich kann mir gut vorstellen, dass Näh-Anfängerinnen die neue Techniken ausprobieren möchten sehr gute Ergebnisse mit Zoe erzielen können. Weitere gut gekleidete Damen findet ihr heute auf 
EN: I kind of feel, that the pockets are just a tad bit too low, but that is just my personal opinion….If you chose to sew this pattern, I will definitely recommend you sew the pockets until the marked circle (DON’T ASK ME HOW I KNOW!!) I’d like to sew Zoe in a few different colors without any wild prints, as I think she’s very office appropriate and looks very classy with tights and heels. I also think this might be a very good dress for a beginner venturing into some new techniques. PS: I’m just as confused as you are about that grey hair that makes a wild appearance in some of the pictures but not in all🤔….I also can’t find it in the mirror… which makes me think that either my hair or my camera is punking me….😜

Es ist soweit, der letzte Mittwoch in diesem Jahr, an dem ich mich in die Arbeit schleppen muss, mich vor meinem Rechner setzen muss und mal wieder überlegen muss, was mein Passwort ist (!!!) GOTT SEI DANK, ES IST VOLLBRACHT!!! Dieses Jahr werden wir Weihnachten nur zu zweit feiern (und mit der Katze!!), viel entspannen und vielleicht sogar etwas nähen. Es wird Raclette zu essen geben und ich überlege immer noch, ob ich mir noch auf den letzten Drücker ein Weihnachtskleid nähen möchte….mal gucken, das entscheide ich dann am Freitag.
EN: Good morning everyone! It’s the last Wednesday this year, on which I will have to drive myself to the office, sit down in front of my Computer and then struggle to remember my password (!!) THANK GOD, IT’S OVER!!!! This year, we will be celebrating Christmas on a much smaller scale, just the two of us (and the cat!), I plan on making Raclette, resting and relaxing and maybe even getting some sewing done!! I’m still deciding whether to sew myself a last minute Christmas Dress, I suppose I shall make a decision on Friday… we’ll see.

DE: Ich habe wieder die Größe 10 verwendet, glaube aber, dass ich beim nächsten Mal eine Nummer kleiner wählen sollte, in den Bildern ist mir aufgefallen, dass das Oberteil vorne links etwas groß wirkt…. Das kann aber auch daran liegen dass ich beim fotografieren ziemlich herum geturnt bin, weil es so schrecklich kalt war und das Kleid verrutscht ist. Nur zur Info: meine bessere Hälfte stand in der Küchentür und hat mich von dort aus fotografiert ohne einen Fuß in den Garten zu setzten…..weil es ihm auch zu kalt war… LOL…
EN: I sewed up a size 10 again, I do think I might have to size down if I ever make this pattern again, as it does look like there’s a lot of fabric on the front left side…or maybe the dress just shifted, because I moving so much …because I was sooo cold. By the way, the Mister stood in the doorway of the kitchen and took the photos from there, without setting a foot into the backyard… because he thought it was too cold, too… hahahahah
DE: Was soll ich sagen, der Winter ist hier und das Jahr ist vorbei. Es ist soooo viel passiert dieses Jahr ich bin von England zurück nach Deutschland gezogen, bin sehr viel gereist und habe noch viel mehr genäht! Ich überlege, ob ich nicht im neuem Jahr, einen monatlichen Round-up Post für meinen Blog machen soll, in dem ich zusammen schreibe, was sich getan hat….Es würde viele Katzenbilder geben….und Bilder von Sachen die ich essen…. Aber ich denke, das wäre gar nichts mal so schlecht.. Was meint Ihr? EN: Winter is here and the year is nearly over. I can’t believe how fast it went!! So many crazy things happened, I moved from the UK back to Germany and started a new job and did quite a bit of travelling (and sewing!!).
