DE: Guten Morgen ihr Lieben! Ich will zwar noch nichts verschreien… aber hat sich der Hochsummer nun endgültig verabschiedet? Ich beklage mich nicht… ich habe eine Abkühlung dringend gebraucht (mein Garten auch!!) und freue mich auch mal wieder eine Strickjacke anziehen zu dürfen! Heute gibt es ein spätsommerliches Kleid, dass ich vor zwei Wochen fertig genäht habe.

EN: Good morning everyone! I don’t want to scare anyone… but can it be, that summer is starting to fade into autumn? I’m not complaining at all, I really enjoyed the cooler temperature and the fact, that I was even able to break out a cardigan this past weekend (my backyard is pleased that it’s raining, too!). Today, I’d like to show one of the last summer dresses of the year, that I finished 2 weeks ago.  

DE: Der Schnitt ist das Jana Kleid von Vikisews, dass ich bei ihrem Sommerschlussverkauf herunter geladen hatte. Sie hat übrigens schon wieder eine neue Kollektion auf dem Markt gebracht und ich liebe diesen Rock und diese Hose. Jana ist ziemlich einfach genäht, so einfach, dass ich mir nicht einmal die Anleitung dazu angesehen habe… LOL!

EN: The pattern is the Jana Wrap Dress, by Viki Sews, that I managed to score during her epic Sale earlier this summer. She’s already released another pattern collection and I have plans, I tell you! Anyway, Jana is a really easy pattern to make up… so easy, that I didn’t even need to take a look at the instructions! LOL!!

 DE: Ich habe mich wieder für Größe 40 entschieden und wieder beim Rock und beim Oberteil an allen Seiten jeweils 1 cm zugefügt, damit ich für meine Taille dann 4 cm dazugewinnen konnte. Die Ärmel waren mir irgendwie zu weit und wirkten fast wie Flügel weshalb ich ein Bündchen genäht habe und den Ärmelsaum dann in dem Bündchen eingefasst habe. Ich finde es sieht somit deutlich edler aus.

EN: I chose to make up size 40 again and added an extra cm on both the front and back bodice and skirt to make up for the 4 cm, that I needed at the waist. EASY PEASY! I didn’t really like the sleeves, that nearly looked like batwings, so I quickly drafted a cuff and gathered the hem of the sleeve in the before mentioned cuff. I think it turned out rather chic.

 DE: Der Stoff stammt von Birmingham Ragmarket und lag schon seit knapp 2 Jahren in meinem Lager… als ich vor zwei Wochen mal versucht hatte etwas Ordnung in meinem Lager zu bringen (wir wissen alle wie das mal wieder zu Ende ging… nämlich ohne großen Unterschied… SEUFZ), fiel es mir in den Händen und dann wusste ich genau, was ich damit nähen sollte.

EN: The fabric is from the Birmingham Ragmarket, that I bought 2 years ago… when I attempted to tidy up my sewing room (we all know, how that turned out!!) I found it and knew exactly what to do with it!

 DE: Ihr Lieben, das Kleid ist eigentlich ganz schick, nur gefällt mir der Ausschnitt nicht besonders gut, er ist viel zu tief und deshalb habe ich dann einen Druckknopf eingenäht… und bin immer noch nicht wirklich überzeugt. Ich kann mir aber auch nicht vorstellen ein Unterhemd unter diesem Kleid zu tragen, weshalb der Druckknopf die letzte Rettung für dieses Kleid war. Ich habe mir mal Bilder auf IG angesehen und dies scheint wohl auch bei anderen Damen ein Thema gewesen zu sein… die Druckknopfidee hab ich mir von dort abgeguckt.

EN: You guys, I think the dress is really lovely, but I don’t like the neckline. It’s just too low, which is why I sewed in a snap….and am still not sure if I like it. I don’t really see myself wearing a vest with it (especially, since I don’t own one. LOL!) which is why the snap was a bit of a last resort. I had a look at the hashtag on IG and it seems other sewists had the same problem… I actually copied the snap idea from someone on there. 

DE: Mein Fazit ist, dass ich mir mal das Oberteil von Jana und von dem Eve Kleid in Ruhe ansehen werde um sie erstens zu vergleichen und zweitens um zu gucken wie ich das Jana Oberteil in Zukunft anpassen kann. Das Kleid werde ich trotzdem anziehen, dafür mag ich den Stoff zu gerne. Im allerschlimmsten Fall werfe ich einfach eine Strickjacke drüber, bei dem Wetter fällt es eh keinem auf. EN: I might have a closer look at the Jane bodice and the Sew Over It Eve bodice and see how I can adjust the fit on the next version (I’d like to make a few for autumn!) I’m sure that I will wear the dress and I can always throw on a cardi, if the dress still makes me feel weird! Wishing you all an excellent week!
