It is hot, the food is sensational and we’ve already visited all the markets and bought souvenirs and fabric and I have no idea how on earth we’re going to cart everything back to Singapore… as we only booked hand luggage… UUUPPPS!
DE: Ich hatte meiner besseren Hälfte zum Geburtstag eine Vespatour durch Saigon geschenkt. Die geführte Tour dauert 4 Stunden, es gibt ein sehr leckeres Mittagessen und man sieht viele schöne Orte, die man als Tourist wahrscheinlich nicht selber gefunden hätte.
EN: I got the Mister a guided Vespatour through Saigon, for his birthday this year. The tour spans over 4 hours and includes a very yummy lunch. We got to see beautiful parts of the city, we probably wouldn’t have found on our own and got a real feel for Saigon
DE: Nachdem ich die Tour gebucht hatte, musste ich mir ziemlich dringend überlegen was ich dafür anziehen würde, denn mein Schrank besteht zu 90% aus Kleidern und zu 5% aus Röcken… und eine Jeans bei mehr als 30 Grad anzuziehen… war jetzt nicht wirklich etwas, was ich machen wollte. Nun ja, Brainstorming um 5 vor 12 war angesagt. OH MAN!!!
EN: After booking the tour, it became abundantly clear… that I had nothing to wear for cruising about on a Vespa… especially since my closet consists of dresses (nearly 90%) and skirts (at least 5%) and really didn’t want to wear jeans at more than 30 degrees… this of course meant I need to brainstorm some ideas at the very last moment… LE SIGH!
DE: Dann fiel mir ein das Lisa Comfort am Sommeranfang in einem Vlog gezeigt hat, wie man aus dem Rosie Kleid und den Ultimate Culottes einen sehr schicken Jumpuit nähen kann. Wie den Zufall so will, besitze ich beide Schnitte und hatte 3 Meter schwarzen Viscose Twill im Lager für den ich bis Dato noch keine Verwendung hatte. Das passt doch wie die Faust aufs Auge, dachte ich mir!
EN: At some point I remembered that Lisa Comfort had shown off a Rosie Dress/ Ultimate Culottes Hack on her Vlog and that I really, really liked it. Since I own both patterns, had 3 meters of black viscose twill in my stash, that I had no plans for, I got cracking.
DE: Kommen wir zur Konstruktion des Jumpsuits. Genäht habe ich beide Teile in Größe 12 und ich habe das Oberteil um einen Zoll verlängert. Ganz wichtig, nähe zuerst das Oberteil zusammen, dir wird auffallen, dass du die Abnähen an der Hosen ein wenig verschieben werden musst, damit die Abnähen und die Prinzessinensäume vom Oberteil aufeinander treffen. Das war eigentlich das einzig haarsträubende an diesem ganzen Projekt.
EN: Let’s get down to the construction of this jumpsuit. I cut a size 12 for both the bodice as well as the trousers. I lengthened the bodice by 1 inch and assembled the bodice first. This is an important step to make as you’ll have to move the darts on the trousers, so they will match up with the princess seams on the bodice. That is in fact, the only tricky thing of this hack!
DE: Ich habe einen verdeckten Reißverschluss eingenäht, der beim ersten Mal gleich perfekt eingenäht wurde! YAS!!! Und habe das Oberteil mit dem gleichem Stoff gefüttert, wie es sich herausgestellt war das keine gute Idee… der Ausschnitt leierte am Ende des Tages so aus 🙈 Ich werde noch einmal alles auftrennen und dann das Oberteil mit Baumwolle füttern. Der Jumpsuit war wirklich ein ziemlich einfaches Projekt und ich hatte ihn nicht nur bei der Vespatour an. Ich ärgere mich, dass ich nicht schon im Hochsommer diesen Jumpsuit genäht habe, den hätte ich auch mit einer Strickjacke ins Büro anziehen können… NÄCHSTES JAHR!!!
EN: I sewed in an invisible zip, that went in perfectly on the first try, YAS!!! And lined the bodice with the same fabric for a clean finish…. which turned out not to be my smartest idea… the neckline totally bagged out by the end of the day, I think I might just take the bodice apart again and line it with a lawn or something to make it sturdier. The jumpsuit hack was a really easy project and I didn’t only wear it for the Vespatour!! I love this hack and really can’t believe that I waited until the very last moment to make it up… I could have worn this to the office with a nice cardi!!! LE SIGH!!! NEXT YEAR!!!
DE: Ich schlürfe gerade meine zweite Schüssel Pho und eigentlich will ich noch ein Banh Mie Sandwich… ich weiß wirklich nicht wie ich mich je wieder mit der Deutschen Küchen anfreunden werde, wenn ich wieder daheim bin. DE: Nachdem ich euch letzte Woche meinen Kate Rock und mein Kate Kleid gezeigt hatte, war es nun an der Zeit euch mein Kate Kleid zu zeigen. Genäht habe ich das Kleid auch in Größe 12 in einem Krepp vom Sew Over It Online Shop. Nachdem ich das Oberteil und den Rock vorab schon genäht hatte, war mir klar wie ich das Kleid zusammen nähen musste. Ich habe das Oberteil um 1 ¼ Zoll verlängert… ich hätte es bei einem Zoll lassen sollen, ich finde es einen Zacken zu lang….Ich denke, das man auf Grund der Farbe und des Musters des Stoffes, das nicht weiter erkennen kann…Zumindest hoffe ich…. HEUL!!
EN: After showing you both my Kate skirt and blouse last week, it was time to break out the Kate dress. I sewed it up in a size 12 using crepe from the Sew Over It Online shop. After successfully completing the blouse and the skirt, I knew how to put the dress together. I lengthened the bodice by 1 1\4 inches, which in retrospect was a bit too much…. I think it’s just a tiny bit to lomg at the waist… but the print is so busy, th@5 you barely notice it…. at least I hope so… SOB!
DE: Ich empfehle euch, solltet ihr mit fließenden Stoffen arbeiten, den Kragen zuerst mit Vliseline zu bebügeln und anschließen das Schnittteil auszuschneiden… damit ihr nicht wie ich 4 Mal den Kragen ausschneidet und er jedes Mal eine andere Form hat… WARUM??? Ich muss sagen, dass ich das Kleid sehr gerne in die Arbeit anziehe und denke das es mich den ganzen Herbst und hoffentlich auch Winter (mit dicken Sturmpfhosen!!) begleiten wird!
EN: If you chose to use a drapey fabric, I recommend ironing on the interfacing onto the fabric first, before cutting out the collar… as I ended up cutting out 4 collars and each one of them was substantially different…. WHY???? I have to say, I really like wearing it to the office and think that I will pair it with some tights, once autumns starts kicking off, properly.
DE: Aber lass uns zum eigentlichem Schmuckstück, dem Anna Trench kommen! Als mich die Fotos von dem Anna Trench sah war ich ganz Feuer und Flamme! Ich liebe es Jacken und Mäntel zu nähen und Anna hatte wirklich schöne Details: der tolle Kragen, die Epauletten die Länge, die versteckten Taschen und, und, und! Ich sollte erwähnen, dass Anna nicht gefüttert ist, man jedoch relativ einfach selbst ein Futter kreieren könnte, wenn man wollte. (3 Mal dürft ihr Raten woran ich gerade arbeite…
EN: But lets get down to the crown jewel of the EBook: The Anna Trench! When I first saw the photo of the Anna Dress, it was love at first sight! I really love sewing jackets and coats and Anna has some really special features: a wonderful collar, the epaulettes, the on trend length and the inseam pockets! I should mention the Anna is not lined, but you can draft a lining quite easily, if you really wanted to do so.

DE: Guten Morgen ihr Lieben! Der Sommer hat einen Gang herunter geschalten (GOTT SEI DANK!! DIE HITZE WAR NICHT MEHR ZU ERTRAGEN!!) und ich hatte wieder Zeit zum Nähen und um Herbstkleidung zu planen! Unser Kater Henry benimmt sich auch wieder wie ein Kater und schläft nicht mehr 18 Stunden am Tag im Keller sondern möchte auch gerne wieder Zeit mit uns verbringen. ALLES WIRD GUT!
DE: Heute wollte ich euch das neue Schnittmusterlabel 
DE: Ihre erste Kollektion besteht aus 5 Schnitten die man auch prima miteinander kombinieren kann. 2 sehr unterschiedliche Röcke, 2 Oberteile und ein Kleid und alle Schnitte sind nach ihren Tanten benannt, was ich sehr charmant fand. Ich hatte das große Glück vorab die Schnitte für den Bleistiftrock „
DE: Michelle will nicht nur dass ihre Kunden eine schicke Arbeitsgarderobe haben, sondern auch, dass sie neue Techniken lernen, um ihre Kleidungsstücke professionell zu verarbeiten. Bei dem Bleistiftrock habe ich zum ersten Mal einen Reißverschluss-Schutz eingenäht. Gekannt hatte ich das schon aus gekaufter Kleidung aber bisher ist mir das in der Nähwelt (Indie und Big 4) noch nie über den Weg gelaufen.
DE: Kommen wir zu meinen neuen Kleidungsstücken, genäht habe ich beides mit Stoffen von Pretty Mercerie. Ich habe den Rock in Größe 14 genäht und habe die Abnäher jeweils um 0.5 cm vergrößert. Ich denke beim nächsten Mal nähe ich einfach die Größe 12. Mir gefallen die Taschen sehr gut ich habe die Innen-Taschen mit dem Stoff vom Oberteil gefüttert, und den gleichen Stoff auch für das Querband zum versäubern des Bundes verwendet. Ich finde, dass passt alles ganz gut zusammen.
DE: Für das Oberteil „Cathrine“ habe ich auch die Größe 14 ohne Anpassungen verwendet. Der Stoff von Pretty Mercerie ist eine wunderbare Viskose und ich ärgere mich darüber, dass ich nicht mehr davon gekauft habe. Für die Schleife habe ich schwarze Viskose aus meinem Lager verwendet, ich finde der Kontrast zwischen der einzelnen Farben ist ganz gelungen, oder?
DE: Ich habe das Outfit jetzt schon mehrfach in der Arbeit angehabt und die Bluse auch schon ein paar Mal mit Jeans kombiniert es sind beides Kleidungsstücke die meine Arbeitsgarderobe sehr aufgepeppt haben. Ein zweiter „Agnes” Rock in Marineblau ist schon in meinem Kleiderschrank eingezogen und eine weitere Agnes Bluse wird auch demnächst einziehen. Ich wünsche euch allen noch eine schöne Woche! DE: Vorab so viel, das EBook besteht aus 5 Schnitten, die insgesamt in 12 Variationen genäht werden können! Die Schnitte, sollen einen ins Büro und anschließend auf eine Cocktailparty oder ins Wochenende begleiten. Ich kann bestätigen, dass ich sie schon auf ihre Tauglichkeit getestet habe, und ja sie erfüllen auf jeden Fall ihren Zweck! Ich werde euch in den nächsten Wochen einige der Schnitte zeigen, ich habe 2 Schnitte getestet und insgesamt 5 Kleidungsstücke genäht.
EN: The new Ebook consists of 5 new patterns that can been sewn in a whopping 12 variations!!! The idea behind the books, is that the garments should take you from the office, to an after work party to a stylish weekend. I have of course already tested this thesis and can report, that they definitely hold up to their promise! I tested 2 of the 5 patterns and sewed up 5 garments, that I will be showing you in the coming weeks.
DE: Daher gibt es heute die Kate Bluse und den Kate Rock zu sehen! (das Kate Kleid zeige ich euch dann nächste Woche, wenn ich am Wochenende wieder neue Bilder geschossen habe!) Die Kate Bluse habe ich in Größe 12 aus einem leichtem Chambray genäht. Ich habe die Bluse um 2 Zoll verlängert, da sie mir schonst zu kurz geworden wäre (da ich meine Blusen grundsätzlich immer einstecke, wäre das ein Problem gewesen…) Ich habe die Bluse mit Französischen Nähten genäht, was für ein sehr schickes Innenleben der Bluse sorgt und habe den Saum der Bluse (und den Saum der Ärmel) mit Querband versäubert.
EN: Today I’d like to show you the Kate Blouse and Skirt ( I will show you the Kate dress sometime next week, when I reshoot the photos). I sewed up the Kate blouse in a size 12 using a lightweight chambray. I lengthened the blouse by 2 inches, as it would have been way too cropped for me and I really like tucking my blouses into my skirts and trousers. I used French seams for the blouse, for pretty insides and finished the hem using a cream colored bias binding.
DE: Gut gefällt mir die verdeckte Knopfleiste, die SEHR EINFACH zu nähen ist. Die Anleitungen enthalten für jeden Schnitt, eine (sehr aufwendige) Schritt für Schritt Fotoanleitung die dafür sorgt, dass man anschließend, ein sehr schönes Kleidungsstück fertig näht. Die Knöpfe stammen aus meinem Lager und nein, ich habe immer noch keine neuen bestellt…mal gucken wann ich dazu komme.
EN:I really love the button band that is REALLY EASY to sew. The instructions are very clear and SOI also makes your life easy by giving you (very intricate) step by step photo instructions for EVERY PATTERN! This of course insures, that you will end up with wonderfully looking garments, once you are done. I used buttons from my stash… and no I still haven’t gotten around to replenish my shrinking button stash… le sigh…
DE: Der Kate Rock, den ich in Größe 12 genäht habe, besteht aus 6 Einzelteilen, man kann den Rock außerdem mit einem Schlitz nähen, was ich nicht gemacht habe… da ich es leider immer schaffe in Situationen zu gelangen bei denen ein Schlitz im Rock unvorteilhaft ist. UUPPS!! Genäht habe ich den Rock aus einer weißen Spitze, den ich mit meiner Mama letzten März am Birmingham Ragmarket gekauft habe. Da die Spitze allein aber sehr durchsichtig gewesen wäre habe ich sie mit meinem

DE: Die Säume habe ich dann einfach mit der Overlock versäubert. Den Saum habe ich mal ausnahmsweise mit der Maschine genäht, weil ich fertig werden wollte! LOL!! Ich habe dieses Outfit auf meiner Dienstreise nach Birmingahm im July angehabt. Beim Abteilungsessen mit meinen Kollegen, hat mir die Kellnerin versehentlich einen kleinen Topf Remoulade und Ketchup in den Schoß gekippt…Ich wollte weinen… ich mussten den ganzen Tage mit einem riesen Fleck herumlaufen und wusste nicht ob der Rock anschließend, wegen dem Ketchup, überhaupt noch tragbar gewesen wäre. Gott sei Dank hat Vanish den Fleck rausgebracht.
EN: I finished the seams with my overlocker and sewed the hem of the skirt on my machine for a change, as I really wanted to get done! LOL!! I actually wore this outfit on my last business trip to Birmingham, in July. During a meal out with my colleagues, a waitress dropped a pot of mayonnaise and ketchup on my skirt… I nearly cried! Not only did I have to spend the rest of the day running around with a stained skirt, but I was worried, that the ketchup wouldn’t wash out and I would never be able to wear the skirt again. Luckily Vanish came through, for me and you cannot see the stain at all!
DE: Mein Fazit für das EBook und dieser Kate Kombi ist das ich vollkommen begeistert bin. Die Schnitte sind unheimlich erwachsen und modern und treffen genau meinen Geschmack! Es ist schon eine Weile her, seitdem ich einen Blogpost geschrieben habe, aber ich war in den letzten 3 Wochen, sowohl dienstlich in England, als auch in Ostfriesland auf einer Hochzeit was natürlich bedeutet, dass ich für längere Zeit von meiner Nähmaschine getrennt war. EN: Good morning, everyone! It’s been a hot minute since I last posted, I apologize, in past 3 weeks I was in the UK on business and at the Baltic sea celebrating a dear friend’s wedding. Which of course meant That my sewing machine apart for the longest time, this year. I did do quite a bit of pattern testing before my break…but since the patterns have yet to be release, I cannot share them with you, yet. #sorrynotsorry
DE: Kommen wir also zu meinem zweitem Myosotis Kleid von Deer und Doe! Der Stoff stammt vom Birmingham Rag Market, gekauft habe ich ihn vor 2 Wochen als ich mit einigen von meinen Nähfreundinen vor Ort war. Ich werde nicht lügen, es sind an dem Tag 13 neue Stoffe und fast 30 Meter Stoff in meinem Koffer gewandert…den ich im Herbst in Kleidungsstücke vernähen möchte. Den Koffer habe ich zum Glück noch zu bekommen und musste dieses Mal nicht 4 Meter Viskose als Schal verwenden. LOL!! Der Stoff war der teuerste, den ich an dem Tag gekauft gatte… ganze 5 GBP pro Meter (ihr dürft lachen!) Da ich 3 Meter verwendet habe, hat mich das ganze Kleid 15 Pfund gekostet und ich muss sagen das waren wohl die besten 15 Pfund, die ich dieses Jahr ausgegeben habe.
EN: Let’s get down to business with my second Myosotis Dress from Deer and Doe. I bought the fabric at the Birmingham Rag Market 2 weeks ago, where I was also able to meet up with some of my lovely sewing friend. I’m not going to lie, I bought 13 pieces of fabric and added nearly 30 meters of fabric to my stash, that I would like to turn into garments in autumn. I was however, able to close my suitcase and didn’t have to disguise 4 meters of viscose… as a scarf again. LOL! Anyway, this Broderie Anglaise was the most expensive fabric I bought that day, costing whopping 5 GBP a meter (you may laugh now!) Since I purchased 3 Meters, making this dress cost me exactly 15 quid, which is probably the best 15 quid I spent this year!!
DE: Genäht habe ich den Schnitt in Größe 38, ich habe das Oberteil um 2 Zoll verlängert und habe wieder selbst konstruierte Bänder an den Seiten angenäht um meine Taille zu betonen. Bei den Ärmel habe ich mit einer kleinen spitzen Schere die Spitze vorsichtig ausgeschnitten und ich ärgere mich immer noch, dass ich nicht so weitsichtig war, beim Rock Volant auch das gleich Stück Stoff zu verwenden um mir das versäumen zu ersparen. Leider ist mir das erst eingefallen, als ich alles ausgeschnitten habe und ich hatte dann nicht mehr genug Stoff vorhanden um die Teile ein weiteres Mal auszuschneiden. SEUFZ!
EN: Like my first version, I chose to sew up in the pattern in a size 38 and lengthened the bodice by 2 inches. I also added ties on the side to bring the dress in a bit. I also used a pair of sharp embroidery scissors to cut out the scallop edge of the sleeves and am still kicking myself, that it didn’t think to do the same for the flounce of the skirt… which would have saved me the time of hemming it! Unfortunately, I realized the potential for this, after I had cut out all the pieces and then didn’t have enough fabric to recut the flounce… LE SIGH
DE: Der Stoff ist sehr leicht, weshalb ich das Oberteil, die Ärmel und den Rock mit butterweichem, weißem Baumwollbatist von Like Sew Amazing gefüttert habe. Die Volants für die Ärmel und den Rock habe ich nicht gefüttert, das lag zum einen daran, dass mir der Batist ausgegangen ist aber auch daran das ich es für unnötig hielt. Die Knöpfe stammen aus meinem Lager, die habe ich mal auf Ebay ersteigert, glaube ich zumindest. Die Säume habe ich mit meiner Overlock versäubert, die in den letzten Wochen so zickig war, das ich nach jedem Saum die Maschine neu einfädeln musste. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
EN: The fabric is quite sheer, which is why I chose to underline it with some super soft, white lawn from Like Sew Amazing. I didn’t underline the sleeve and skirt flounce, because I ran out of fabric and also really didn’t see the point to be very honest. The buttons are from my stash, I think I won them in an Ebay auction a few years ago. I finished the seams of the dress with my very temperamental serger… she’s currently so temperamental that I had to rethread the machine after every seam that I finished. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
DE: Da ich der Sommer auch weiterhin anhält, war es glaube ich gar nicht so schlecht, dieses Kleid noch auf dem letzten Drücker zu nähen. EN: Since summer seems to hang around for a little bit longer, it wasn’t my worst idea to knock out one last summer dress. I’m also taking my annual leave in October (OMG!!! DE: Genäht habe ich Melina in Größe 40 und habe wieder an den vorderen und hinteren Seiten jeweils 1cm dazu addiert, das hat wirklich gut geklappt. Alle Nahtzugaben werden mit Querband versäubert, der Saum wird nur umgeschlagen, ich habe ihn per Hand wieder festgenäht und dabei auf Netflix Safe angeschaut. (war beides sehr gut LOL!)
EN: I sewed up Melina in a size 40 and added 1cm on both the front and back side pieces. Viki makes you finish all the seam allowances with bias binding, giving the inside of the dress a really beautiful, refined finish. I finish the hem of the dress by hand, while watching Safe on Netflix. ( Both were brilliant! LOL!)
DE: Was habe ich also neues gelernt? Wie ich Abnäher ordentlich markiere ohne einzelne Punkte mit Kreide zu markieren (wo habe ich das eigentlich gelernt??). Wie man die Träger aneinander näht damit sie besonders gelungen aussehen, ohne mir dabei die Haare auszureißen… der Trick ist sooooooooooooooo einfach… ich kann es selbst nicht fassen!!! Und dass es wirklich stimmt, dass wenn dein Kleid von innen und von außen besonders toll aussieht, dass man es öfters trägt! =)
EN: So what did I learn? How to properly mark my darts and not use chalk and tiny dots on my fabric (where on earth did I learn that??) How to sew the straps together leaving you with a very professional finish, that doesn’t make you want to tear out your hair! And that if you spend time to pretty up the insides of your dress, you will wear it more! =)

DE: Guten Morgen ihr Lieben! Es ist Dienstag und ich bin noch ziemlich kaputt vom letzten Wochenende, da wir die Hochzeit von Freunden in Köln gefeiert haben und der Abend wurde dann unheimlich lang! Auch habe ich den Longdrink „Moscow Mule“ entdeckt und muss jetzt herausfinden, wie ich den selbst daheim zusammen mische. MOVE OVER PIMMS! Weshalb ich die Hochzeit überhaupt erwähne: Ich hatte das heute Kleid, Gia von Vickie Sews, speziell für diesen Anlass genäht, es dann aber nicht angezogen, weil es dann doch wenig „too much“ war. Das ist aber nicht schlimm, es stehen noch einige Anderen Anläse diesen Sommer an!
DE: Fangen wir von vorne an, vor einigen Woche hatte ein jemand den ich auf Instagram folge in ihrer IG Story auf diverse Russische Indie Schnittmuster Labels aufmerksam gemacht und ich konnte gar nicht fassen wie toll die Kleidungsstücke waren. Schnell abonnierte ich den Account von 
DE: Ich hatte mir für dieses Jahr vorgenommen, neue Schnittmusterlabels auszuprobieren und auch andere Silhouetten zu probieren und sprang somit über meinen eigenen Schatten und lud den Schnitt 
EN: I had decided earlier this year, to try out a few new Indie Pattern Labels and new silhouettes, which is why I decided to pull the trigger and downloaded the 
EN: I sent the copy shop file to my favorite copy shop and was rather impressed, when I received the pattern in my mailbox, that the 1cm seam allowance was marked with its own line on very single pattern piece. I added 1,5cm on both the sides of the front and back bodice AND skirt pieces (at the waist ) I graded the new line into the original line over a 6cm distance (are you still following me?!?) To make sure that the dress would actually fit me, I first sewed a lining dress out of the softest cotton lawn, from Like Sew Amazing and was very impressed by the fit of the dress!!! The linen I chose for the shell is from my last business trip to Turin.
EN: Construction wise, it took me about 1.5 hours to put the dress together. I used my rolled hem foot for the flounce on the skirt, I really should use this foot more often! I shortened the straps by 3 cm, which is almost a bit too much, and I hand sewed the hem of the lining dress to the hem of the shell. VOILA, GIA IS DONE! If you’re still reading this post, you will probably be aware how utterly impressed I am of this Indie Pattern Label, I’ve already downloaded two other patterns and discovered, that VickieSews also offers online courses for coats and Trench coats! I watched the trailer for the trench coat and have added it to my NEED TO SEW FOR AUTUMN list….you know, once this never ending heatwave finally passes.
EN: I hope other sewists will give this pattern company a go. As someone who doesn’t speak Russian, I can promise you, that putting this dress together using the excellent photo instructions and the google translate app, was very straight forward. Wishing you all a great start to the new week!

DE: Ich habe mich entschieden Version 2, mit den gefühlten 3 Meilen gekräuselten Röcken zu nähen. Laut meinen Maßen hätte ich die Größe 40 nähen müssen, aber da ich nicht wollte, dass das Kleid so groß wird und ich darin schwimme, habe ich beschlossen es in Größe 38 zu nähen. Auch habe ich wie Fiona Taillen-Bänder genäht um die Passform an meiner Taille zu optimieren. Die Knöpfe stammen aus meinem Lager, ich weiß leider nicht mehr wo ich sie gekauft habe… SORRY! Ich habe außerdem das Oberteil um 2 Zoll verlängert, da es sonst viel zu kurz gewesen wäre.
EN: I chose to sew up version 2 with the miles and miles of gathers.. WHAT WAS I THINKING???? My measurements put me in a size 40 but I didn’t want to look like I was wearing a sack and therefore sized down to a size 38. Fiona sewed on waist ties to take in the Dress on the sides and I shamelessly decided to do the same. I will admit, that I was stressing myself out, because I only had a few scraps left over to make the ties…it worked out in the end, thank goodness! The Buttons are from my stash, I can’t remember where I got them from SORRY!!!! I also lengthened the bodice by 2 inches, as it would have been way too short.
DE: Die Konstruktion des Kleides ist recht simpel, aber ich warne euch… das kräuseln ist anstrengend. Zuerst kräuselt man die Ärmel und dann den unteren Teil des Rocks und dann den oberen Teil des Rocks und dann hat man anschließend keinen dazu passenden Faden mehr und bricht in Tränen aus… LOL…Nein, so schlimm war es nicht aber, ich gestehe ich habe das Kleid vor 4 Wochen ausgeschnitten und nachdem ich mit dem Kräuseln des ersten Rocks durch war, habe ich es in die Ecke gepfeffert, wo es 4 Wochen lang geschmollt hat. Ich habe es letztes Wochenende endlich fertig gestellt und beschlossen meinen Roll-Saum-Fuß für die Säume zu verwenden, was eine exzellente Idee war, da ich nicht mehr in der Lage war, alles mit Querband zu versäubern… SORRY NOT SORRY!
EN: The construction of the Dress was quite easy, but I will warn you, you will spend hours GATHERING AND GATHERING AND GATHERING….. First you gather the sleeves and then the bottom part of the skirt and then you gather the top part of the skirt and then you run out of colour coordinated thread and burst into tears… LOL… No, it wasn’t that bad but I will confess, that after I gathered the bottom part of the skirt, I threw the dress into a corner of my sewing room, where it sulked for 4 weeks until I felt bad and finished it. IcChose to use my rolled-hemming foot to finish the hems of the skirt and sleeve, and that was the most excellent Idea I’ve had in a while, a I wasnot capable of finishing all the hems with bias binding…. SORRY NOT SORRY!

DE: Ich finde die Burda Schnitte schon alle ziemlich nett, aber abpausen finde ich furchtbar (DIESER SCHNITTBOGEN DES TEUFELS!!! NEIN!!!!) ich hab daher den Schnitt herunter geladen aber Burda bietet leider IMMER NOCH NICHT COPYSHOP DATEIEN AN!!!!!! Liebes Burda Team, wenn die Indie Schnittlabels das können, könnt ihr das doch auch, oder?? Ich habe einen ganzen Abend damit verbracht diesen PDF Schnitt zusammen zukleben… ICH HASSE SOWAS!!!! Und einen weiteren Abend habe ich dann mit dem Ausschneiden verbracht. (NAHTZUGABEN DAZU ADDIEREN…WARUM???)
EN: I actually really like the Burda esthetic, but I hate tracing (THOSE PATTERN SHEETS OF HELL!!!NO!!!) which is why I downloaded the PDF Pattern off the Burda homepage, however Burda STILL DOESN’T SUPPLY YOU WITH A COPY SHOP FILE!!!! Dear Burda Team, if Indie Pattern companies are capable in doing it…so are you, right? I spent an entire evening pasting the PDF together I HATE HATE HATE THIS!!!! And another evening cutting out the pattern (AND ADDING SEAMALLOWANCES WHY??????)
DE: Kommen wir zu den deutlich erfreulicheren Momenten, die Konstruktion ist super. Ich habe Größe 38 gewählt und hätte beim dem Korsett, die Größe 40 wählen sollen, da es doch etwas eng ist.. wobei das mit Sicherheit auch damit zusammenhängt, dass ich alle Schnitteile mit dünner Vliseline bebügelt hatte. Genäht habe ich den Jumpsuit aus Dunkelblauem Leinen, den ich im März in London, bei Classic Textiles, gekauft hatte. Ich habe außerdem noch schwarzen und weißen Leinen gekauft…und soo viel Baumwoll Batist…und Knöpfe…. AUTSCH!!! Das ist übrigens das erste Mal, dass ich eine Hose genäht habe (!!!) und es war überhaupt nicht schwer… warum habe ich mich eigentlich so davor gedrückt? Das Korsett-Oberteil ist wie erwähnt etwas zu eng und ich hätte das Oberteil auch etwas verlängern sollen SEUFZ… aber der Gürtel, peppt das ganze Outfit etwas auf, oder? Ich war mir nur, was die Länge des Jumpsuits anging nicht so sicher… ich habe mich immer noch nicht so mit den „Hochwasser Hose“ angefreundet…ich finde sie toll an anderen Leuten, nur weiß ich nicht, ob sie bei mir so der Hit sind…im Schlimmsten Fall trennen ich noch einmal den Saum auf und verlängere meine Hosenbeine.
EN: Right, let me stop complaining and tell you all about how great this pattern is. I cut a size 38 and should have gone up a size with the bodice, as it is a bit too tight, that being said, I used an iron on fusible on all the bodice pieces, so that might be the culprit! I chose to sew it up with some lovely navy linen that I bought at Classic Textiles when I was in London in March. I also bought white and black linen…and lawn…and button.. AUTSCH!!!! I should also mention that this is the first time I ever made trouser, seriously they aren’t hard at all…what took me so long? The bustier top is, as mentioned above a bit too small but the belt brings the whole outfit together, methinks! I was struggling with the length of the trousers… I am still not sure if I’ve boarded the cropped leg train yet…or if I still have an aversion to it. I like how it looks on other people but when it comes to myself, I am still undecided. I’ve decided to crop the legs and if I still feel weird wearing them, I can always let out the hem. SORTED!
DE: Meine bessere Hälfte findet den Jumpsuit übrigen GRAUENVOLL! So eine Reaktion hatte ich bisher noch nie von ihm und war mir dann überhaupt nicht sicher… ob ich mir nur einbilde, dass der Jumpsuit gut ist…ABER…Was soll ich sagen, ich LIEBE DIESEN JUMPSUIT!!!! Ich denke es werden noch andere folgen, wenn wir schon davon sprechen, möchte ich gerne einen”Schnitthack” mit dem Lonsdale Oberteil von Sewaholic probieren und das Hosenteil vom Burdaschnitt damit kombinieren. Genug Leinen hätte ich ja… LOL! Weitere gut gekeidete Damen findet ihr heute unter 
EN: The Mister hates the Jumpsuit…you should have seen his face when I showed it off the first time. That left me feeling a bit conflicted…because I wasn’t sure if he just hates jumpsuits or if mine is just ugly…but then I decided I LOVE MY JUMPSUIT!!! And I’ve already thought up an excellent hack, using the Lonsdale bodice from Sewaholic and pairing them with the trousers of this pattern. The Mister will just have to get over himself. HAHAHAH
