DE: Guten Morgen ihr Lieben. Die Arbeit hat mich wieder fest im Griff und ich bin seit Wochen, nach der Arbeit gar nicht zum nähen gekommen…. Was aber auch daran liegen kann, dass ich mich unter anderem,  mit 2 meiner Lieblings-Kolleginnen zum Vietnamesen zum Essen getroffen habe. Falls es euch nach Landshut verschlägt, empfehle ich euch das Nem! Ich esse IMMER Pho Bo und es ist wirklich lecker! Ich sollte mal was anderes probieren aber ich liebe Pho und koche das auch oft selber (auch wenn man es STUNDEN LANG kochen muss!!). Genug übers Essen, kommen wir zum eigentlichem, mein neues LEA Kleid von Lisa Comfort.

EN: Good morning, everyone! Work has officially got me firmly back in it’s grasp and I haven’t done any sewing after work in weeks… I will admit to going out to eat a lovely Vietnamese Restaurant with two of my favourite colleagues. Should you ever find yourselves in Landshut, do go and have dinner at Nem. I always order their Pho Bo, because I love Pho and have started making it myself from scratch, even though it takes HOURS to cook! Enough about food, let talk about sewing!

DE: Lisa, die Gründerin von Sew Over It, bringt seit diesem Jahr Quartalsweise eine Näh/DIY Zeitschrift heraus, das man entweder digital oder in Papierform abonnieren kann. Ich hab es mir als Digitales Abo gegönnt, vor allem, weil ich von dem Kleid TOTAL begeistert war und es unbedingt nähen wollte. LEA ist eine Hommage an das Kleid, das LEA SEYDOUX, die Französische Schauspieren die in dem letzten Bond Film “SPECTRE”, das Bondgirl gespielt hat, in der Wüste getragen hat. Ich muss gestehen, ich fand, dass Monica Bellucci das bessere Bondgirl in “SPECTRE” war, aber ich hat auch ein Auge auf dieses Kleid geworfen und war von den Socken, dass es jetzt einen Schnitt dazu gibt. YAS!!

EN: LIsa Comfort the lady behind Sew Over It, started publishing a quarterly Sewing/DIY magazine this year, that you can order either in digital or paper form. I chose to subscribe to the digital magazine because once I saw the dress it was Game over for me. Lea,  the dress is an homage to the dress worn by Lea SEYDOUX, the Bondgirl in “SPECTRE” in the desert scene. While I thought Monice Bellucci was the better Bondgirl I did adore the dress in the movie, which is why I squealed, when I saw that I could now make my own version of the dress. YAS!!

DE: Ich habe den Schnitt als Copyshop Datei herunter laden können und habe es an den Copyshop meines Vertrauens geschickt.. die leider nach einem Homepage-Upgrade Technische Schwierigkeiten hatten.. HEUL… und musste dann eine ganze Woche warten, bis man mir den Schnitt geschickt hat (Die haben jetzt wohl alles wieder im Griff, also bleibe ich ihnen auch weiterhin treu!). Und dann habe ich mich in meinem Lager umgucken müssen, denn Leute… so geht es nicht weiter….Geplant hatte ich das Kleid aus weußem Krepp von Stoff und Stil zu nähen, nur hatte ich leider nicht genug Stoff um den Schnitt damit umsetzten können… HEUL… ABER, ich hatte noch diesen schicken Liberty Stoff im Lager, den ich stattdessen verwendet habe!!

EN: I uploaded the file to my favourite copy shop, but they were having technical difficulties , because of a homepage upgrade, which is why I had to wait an entire week (THE HORROR!!) on my pattern. The good news is, that the copy shop is running smoothly again and I managed to get my sew on. I shopped my stash, because it’s really out of control and I need to be strict with myself. I had originally planned to use white crepe by Stoff and Stil but it turns out I did not have enough fabric to make the dress with…. thankfully, I had this lovely Liberty Tana Lawn and used that instead.

DE: Ich musste leider auch hier mit den Schnitteilen Tetris spielen (und jetzt hast du ein TETRIS LIED Ohrwurm!) um auch hier alle Teile zuschneiden zu können. Ich habe mich entschieden Größe 12 zu nähen (ich orientiere mich meistens an den fertigen Maßen), und habe wie bei allen SOI Schnitten das Oberteil um 1 Zoll verlängert. Die Nähte habe ich mit meiner Overlock versäubert, ich finde das sieht edel und professionell aus. Die Knöpfe sind vintage Glasknöpfe aus meinem Lager, die ich vor Jahren mal auf Ebay bestellt hatte. Das war noch bevor ich das Nähen entdeckt hatte und stattdessen 10 Strickjacken im Jahr gestrickt hatte…Was ich seit Jahren nicht mehr tue..WARUM EIGENTLICH? Die Konstruktion des Kleides ist recht einfach und erinnerte mich ein wenig an das Vintage Shirtdress von SOI. Gut gefallen mir die Linien des Kleides und es ist natürlich ein Bonus, dass ich nicht Stunden damit verbringen muss an der Passform herum zu basteln.

EN: Unfortunately, I did have to paly a game of pattern piece Tetris (and now you have the Tetris song in your head!) and had to ignore the grain line.. that being said, I had no issues with the grain line. I cut a size 12 using the finished measurements a my go to guide. And lengthened the bodice by 1 inch, something I do with all the SOI patterns. I used some vintage glass buttons I got on Ebay years ago, when I was an avid knitter and used to turn out 11 Cardigans a year… WHY DID I STOP KNITTING??? I found the construction of the dress to be rather similar to the SOI Vintage Shirtdress and I really adore the lines of the skirt. What I liked even better, was that I didn’t have to do any adjustments!

DE: Obwohl das Kleid eigentlich ganz gut geworden bin,  hätte es deutlich besser sein sollen. Ich habe anstatt Krepp oder Viskose, Tana Lawn oder besser eine sehr weiche Baumwolle verwendet die immer noch etwas Stand hat. Beim Nächsten Mal werde ich tatsächlich den empfohlenen Stoff verwenden, damit das Kleid besser fällt und er Halsausschnitte nicht so absteht. Auch finde ich, dass der Ausschnitt recht tief ist. Ich habe einen Druckknopf über dem ersten Knopf genäht und selbst damit fühle ich mich nicht ganz wohl. Ich denke, wenn ich das Kleid noch einmal nähe, dass ich die vielleicht die Schultern anheben werde? Mal gucken.

EN While I think the dress didn’t turn out half bad, I do feel that there is room for improvement. I chose to use a lawn instead of viscose and it shows with the lack of drape and that the neckline stand off a bit. The next time I will stick with the fabric recommendation. I also feel like the neckline is a bit too deep…. I sewed in a snap above the top button but I still feel a bit insecure about it. I think I will have to raise the neckline a bit on the next version, or take up the shoulders a bit? I haven’t decided yet.

DE: Fotografiert hat mich meine bessere Hälfte vor dem Apfelbaum in unserem Garten und ich bin sehr zufrieden mit den Bilden. Ich finde das Kleid schreit nach Sommer (ich übrigens auch!) und ich denke das diesen Sommer davon noch einige nähen werde. Andrere gut gekleideten Damen findet ihr heute unter RUMS!

EN: My partner took my Picture in front of the apple tree in our garden and I am thrilled with how the photos turned out. I think the Dress definitely screams summer and I am sure that I will be making up another, soon!
