DE: Guten Morgen ihr Lieben! Es ist Dienstag und ich bin noch ziemlich kaputt vom letzten Wochenende, da wir die Hochzeit von Freunden in Köln gefeiert haben und der Abend wurde dann unheimlich lang! Auch habe ich den Longdrink „Moscow Mule“ entdeckt und muss jetzt herausfinden, wie ich den selbst daheim zusammen mische. MOVE OVER PIMMS! Weshalb ich die Hochzeit überhaupt erwähne: Ich hatte das heute Kleid, Gia von Vickie Sews, speziell für diesen Anlass genäht, es dann aber nicht angezogen, weil es dann doch wenig „too much“ war. Das ist aber nicht schlimm, es stehen noch einige Anderen Anläse diesen Sommer an!

EN: Good morning, everyone!! It’s Tuesday and I am still pretty tired, as we spent the last weekend at a friend’s wedding in Cologne, where we danced until the early hours and I discovered “Moscow Mule”… ERM… Now all I have to do is figure out how to recreate that Longdrink at home, MOVE OVER PIMMS! If you’re wondering why on earth I am even mentioning any of this, well, I sewed today’s dress, the Gia by Vickie Sews, especially for this event and then decided it was a bit too much and wore something else. That being said, I have a few other events coming up in the next few weeks, where I can wear it, after all!

DE: Fangen wir von vorne an, vor einigen Woche hatte ein jemand den ich auf Instagram folge in ihrer IG Story auf diverse Russische Indie Schnittmuster Labels aufmerksam gemacht und ich konnte gar nicht fassen wie toll die Kleidungsstücke waren. Schnell abonnierte ich den Account von VickieSews und LaForme.ru und Grasser und verbrachte dann einigen Stunden mit deren Homepages und der Google Translate App. ICH WAR VÖLLIG AUS DEM HÄUSCHEN!!! Ein Großteil der Schnitte gehören in die Schiene „Ready to wear“ und könnten aus einer Zeitschrift stammen.

EN: Let me start from the beginning: a few weeks ago, someone on IG (I forget who.. I AM SO SORRY!) did a IG Story about a number of Russian Indie Pattern Labels and I WAS FLOORED! I quickly subscribed to the accounts of VickieSews, LaForme.ru and Grasser and spent a few hours stalking their homepages with the help of Google Translate. I’m not going to lie I WAS EXCITED!!! All the patterns look like they could be clothes from High Street Shop or out of glossy magazines!

DE: Ich hatte mir für dieses Jahr vorgenommen, neue Schnittmusterlabels auszuprobieren und auch andere Silhouetten zu probieren und sprang somit über meinen eigenen Schatten und lud den Schnitt Gia von VickeSews herunter. Der Schnitt kostete sage und schreibe 150 Rubel oder 2,50€ die man mit Paypal bezahlen kann und man erhält dafür sowohl eine PDF Datei, als auch eine Copyshop Datei und eine sehr aufwendig gemachte Fotoanleitung!!!!! WOW!!!!! Das einzige Manko an der Sache ist, dass man vorher seine Größe aussuchen muss, und nur diese eine Größe zur Verfügung gestellt bekommt. Was die Größe angeht folgendes: Zuerst wählt man wie Groß man ist (das war mir neu!) und dann wählt man anhand einer Tabelle die Maße aus. Ich habe mich für Größe 40 entschieden, wobei mir sofort klar war, dass ich die Taille anpassen musste, denn es hätten 6 cm gefehlt! ZU VIELE CHIPS UND GUMMIBÄRCHEN!!

EN: I had decided earlier this year, to try out a few new Indie Pattern Labels and new silhouettes, which is why I decided to pull the trigger and downloaded the Gia Dress from VickieSews. The pattern costs 150 Rubels or 2,50€ which you can pay through Paypal and you receive a PDF pattern, and Copyshop file and very detailed photo and written instructions!! WOW!!!!! The only downside is, that you have to choose your size before purchasing the pattern, as you’ll only receive that size and have to do all your grading yourself. As for the sizes: First you chose your height (that was new!) and then you chose your size according to a table. I chose size 40 and knew straight away that I would have to add 6 cm to the waist! TOO MANY CRISPS AND GUMMIBEARS!!!

DE: Ich habe die Copyshop Datei an den Copyshop meines Vertrauens geschickt und als ich den Schnitt im Postkasten fand und auspackte war ich ziemlich begeistert, dass auf jedem Schnittteil die Nahtzugabe von 1cm mit Linien markiert war. Ich habe an der Seitennaht des vorder- und hinteren Oberteils UND des Rocks jeweils 1,5 cm dazu addiert und meine eigene Linie dann über 6 cm zurück in die Original Linie verschwinden lassen (ich hoffe ihr versteht, was ich meine…). Um sicher zu stellen, dass mir das Kleid anschließend passen würde, habe ich es erst aus dem Futterstoff, einem butterweichem Batist von Like Sew Amazing, genäht und war von der Passform BEGEISTERT!!! Den Leinenstoff den ich für das eigentlich Kleid verwendet habe, stammt aus meiner letzten Dienstreise nach Turin.

EN: I sent the copy shop file to my favorite copy shop and was rather impressed, when I received the pattern in my mailbox, that the 1cm seam allowance was marked with its own line on very single pattern piece. I added 1,5cm on both the sides of the front and back bodice AND skirt pieces (at the waist ) I graded the new line into the original line over a 6cm distance (are you still following me?!?) To make sure that the dress would actually fit me, I first sewed a lining dress out of the softest cotton lawn, from Like Sew Amazing and was very impressed by the fit of the dress!!! The linen I chose for the shell is from my last business trip to Turin.

DE: Die Konstruktion des Kleides, dauerte knapp 1,5 Stunden, den Saum von Rockvolant habe ich mit einem Rollsaumfuss versäubert, das sollte ich öfters machen!! Ich habe die Träger um 3 cm verkürzt, was fast ein ticken zu viel war und habe dann den mit der Hand den Futterrocksaum an den Rocksaum des eigentlich Kleides genäht. VOILA, GIA IST FERTIG!!!! Ich glaube, wenn du diesen Blogpost immer noch liest, ist dir klar, wie BEGEISTERT ich von diesem Label bin! Ich habe schon 2 weitere Schnitte herunter geladen, die ich noch diesen Monat nähen möchte. Auch habe ich gestern festgestellt, dass Vickie Online Kurse für z.B. Trenchcoats und Mäntel anbietet. Der Trailer sieht vielversprechend aus und der Schnitt für den Trenchcoat reizt mich auch… ich denke wenn es nicht mehr ganz so heiß ist, werde ich mich dann an meine Herbstgarderobe wagen!

EN: Construction wise, it took me about 1.5 hours to put the dress together. I used my rolled hem foot for the flounce on the skirt, I really should use this foot more often! I shortened the straps by 3 cm, which is almost a bit too much, and I hand sewed the hem of the lining dress to the hem of the shell. VOILA, GIA IS DONE! If you’re still reading this post, you will probably be aware how utterly impressed I am of this Indie Pattern Label, I’ve already downloaded two other patterns and discovered, that VickieSews also offers online courses for coats and Trench coats! I watched the trailer for the trench coat and have added it to my NEED TO SEW FOR AUTUMN list….you know, once this never ending heatwave finally passes.

DE: Ich hoffe, es trauen sich noch weitere Näherinnen an diesem Label! Als jemand der nicht ein Wort russisch versteht muss ich sagen, dass es ziemlich einfach war, den Schnitt umzusetzen (Google Translate und der phantastischen Fotoanleitung sei Dank!).
