DE: Guten Morgen ihr Lieben! Seit einigen Wochen bin ich offiziell Teil des „Like Sew Amazing Blog Squad“ für den Online Stoff Laden von der lieben Sarah, die ich noch aus meiner Zeit in England kannte. EN: Good morning, everyone! Since a number of weeks, I am part of the „Like Sew Amazing Blog Squad“ of the „Like Sew Amazing“ online shop of the lovely Sarah.( I met Sarah, while I was still living in the UK!!) Sarah sells a wonderfully, curated selection of fabrics and notions and ships out your orders in WARP-Speed! (My last package arrived in my mailbox within 3 days!).

DE: Für mein erstes Projekt, habe ich mich für diese Baumwolle von Cotton and Steel entschieden. Zuerst wollte ich ein weiteres Penny Dress nähen aber der Stoff hatte etwas mehr Stand (Sarah hatte mich vorab gewarnt… aber ich wollte nicht auf sie hören!) also habe ich ein wenig gegrübelt und bin anschließend auf diese  Mango Kombi gestoßen, die von den Fashion Blogger The Londoner gepostet worden sind. Mir fiel SOFORT die Ähnlichkeit mit dem Sew Over It Erin Skirt und dem Sew Over It Penny Top auf und dann war es eh schon um mich geschehen.

EN: For my first project, I decided on this cotton from Cotton and Steel. My plan was initially to sew up another Penny dress, but the fabric didn’t have enough drape (something Sarah had warned me about… but I didn’t listen..), so I had to have a long think about, what I wanted to sew. Then I saw the above outfit from Mango, that fashion Bloggers such as The Londoner posted about and I couldn’t believe the similarity the outfit had with the Sew over It Erin Skirt and Penny Top. You know what followed next!

DE: Genäht habe ich Erin, in Größe 10 und ich habe mir bei dem Rock sehr viel Mühe gegeben, damit das Muster im Stoff auf beiden Seiten zusammen passt. Für das Penny Top habe ich diese Anleitung verwendet, und das Top um 9 cm verlängert, damit ich es auch mit Jeans kombinieren kann. Die Knöpfe beider Kleidungsstücke stammen aus meinem Lager. Ich muss gestehen, bis ich das Top fertig genäht hatte und es angezogen hatte, hatte ich noch Zweifel, ob es das Richtige für mich war. Aber, ich bin TOTAL BEGEISTERT!! Für den Rock und das Top habe ich jeweils 1.5 Stunden gebraucht, ich freue mich immer, wenn ich relativ schnell ein neues Kleidungsstück fertig gebracht habe.

EN: I sewed the Erin skirt up using size 12 and made sure to match up the pattern of the fabric, as best as I could. As for the Penny Top, I used this Tutorial and lengthened the top by 9 cm so that I would be able to wear it with jeans, as well. I must confess that I was still a bit ambivalent about the top until I finished sewing it and put it on… BUT I LOVE IT! I used buttons that I had in my stash. I think I needed about 1,5 hours for each garment and I really love it, when I can quickly sew up something I really love.

DE: Meine neue Sommer Kombi habe ich schon ein paar Mal getragen und auch die einzelnen Stücke lassen sich mit sehr gut mit anderen Kleidungsstücken in meinem Kleiderschrank kombinieren. Manchmal muss man sich nur von den Ready to Wear Trends der aktuellen Mode inspirieren lassen. Weitere gut gekleidete Damen findet ihr heute bei SewLaLa.

EN: I’ve already worn my new summer combo a few times and it really works well with other preexisting garments I already have in my closet. Sometimes you just need to be inspired by a current ready to wear look to spruce up your wardrobe!
