DE: Ihr Lieben, wo ist die Zeit geblieben? Nachdem ich in den letzten Wochen von einer Dienstreise auf die nächste Dienstreise gehetzt bin, und dann auch noch 2 unterschiedliche Nähkurse besucht habe, war klar, dass ich mich mal um meine UFOs widmen sollte. Einfach weil man innerhalb kürzester Zeit ein fertiges Projekt hat, vor dem man sich seit Wochen oder Monaten gedrückt hat. Vorletztes Wochenende war es dann endlich wieder soweit, Ich bin sonntags um 8 aufgestanden und habe nach einer starken Tasse Kaffee, mich in mein Nähzimmer begeben, wo ich dann den UFO Korb entleert habe. Zuerst habe ich ein Top fertig genäht, bei dem nur noch der Saum fertig genäht werden musste (??) und habe ich mir meine Julien Jacke von Ready to Sew gewidmet.

EN: Hello everyone! Time is just flying at the moment, isn’t it? I spent the past few weeks travelling from one business trip to the next, participated in two very different sewing classes the past few weekends and felt quite shattered when I finally had a moment to myself. I decided Sunday before last, that I should do something about my enormous box of UFOs, mostly because they are quick to finish and make me feel like a sewing rock star. So after getting up at 8AM and drinking a very strong cup of coffee I went into my sewing room, tossed the contents of my sewing box on the floor and got to it. I first finished a top that was only missing a hem (??) and then tackled the Julien Jacket by Ready to Sew.

DE: Als der Schnitt im Frühjahr auf dem Markt kam war meine Reaktion eher gedämpft und viel unter… NICHT MEIN FALL. Aber dann hat mir das französische Label Sezane ihre Frühjahres Kollektion, als Lookbook per Email geschickt… und ihre Will Jacke hatte SEHR VIEL ÄHNLICHKEIT mit Julien. Ich tobte mich auf IG Stories aus und postetet 7 unterschiedliche Will Jacken, und meinte dann ganz keck „Das kann man wohl relativ einfach mit dem neuem Schnitt von Ready to Wear nachnähen!“ und dann meldeten sich die Damen von The Foldlinem und schenkten mir den Schnitt. Das war sehr großzügig und Ich war völlig überwältig, vielen Dank noch einmal Rachel und Kate!

EN: When the pattern was released in spring my initial reactions „MEH“ but then French Label Sezane, sent me their newest look book by email and their Will Jacket looked shockingly similar to Julien. I then posted EVERY SINGLE VERSION (7) of the Will Jacket in my IG Stories, proclaiming that you could probably remake this jacketed very easily using the Julien Pattern. The ladies of The Foldline got in touch and gifted me the pattern, which was seriously generous of them, once again, thank you so very much Kate and Rachel!!

DE: Den passenden Stoff hatte ich eh schon im Lager, es wurde ein dunkler Jeansstoff herausgekramt, aber bevor ich loslegen konnte musste ich zuerst den Schnitt etwas abändern. Ich habe die Taschen bis zur vorderen Kante erweitert und habe noch einmal 4 Zoll an Höhe hinzugefügt. Auch wollte ich die Knopfleiste etwas mehr an Will anlehnen und habe von der Vorderen Kante knapp 5 cm abgeschnitten und die Knopfleiste im Bruch geschnitten, so dass man sie nach innen klappen musste, um sie fest zu steppen. Ich habe also die Falte im Rücken genäht, habe die Taschen aufgenäht, die Knopfleiste angenäht und die Ärmel befestigt und dann…dann habe ich Wochenlang gar nichts gemacht. Ich weiß gar nicht wieso. Ich habe am Wochenende nur noch die Seiten zugenäht, den Saum genäht und Knopflöcher und Knöpfe angenäht das Ganze hat nicht einmal 1,5 Stunden gedauert!!!!

EN: I had the perfect fabric already in my stash, an indigo denim fabric I’ve had for years. I did however make some adjustments to the pattern before cutting into the fabric. First of all I added width to the pocket, so that it lined up with the front bodice edge and then added 4 inches of height to the pocket. I then cut off nearly 5 cm of the front bodice edge and cut both button bands in the fold, so that the button band would be a wide as the Will Jacket. I sewed the pleat in the back, attached the pockets to the front, and the front to the back and attached the sleeves… and then I’m really not sure what happened! It took me barely 1,5 hours to finish this jacket, which included closing the sides, hemming the jacket, sewing buttonholes and sewing on buttons.

DE: Wenn ich mir die Jacke ansehe kann ich es immer noch nicht fassen wie gut sie geworden ist. Die Knöpfe habe ich von John Lewis, als ich Anfang Mai in Birmingham war (ich habe dort für 30 GBP Knöpfe gekauft und habe keinen Schmerz damit HAHHAHHAAH). Meine Julien Jacke trage ich vom Auto ins Büro und sie lässt ich auch mit allem Kombinieren, Jeans, Röcke, Kleider und sogar mit meiner pinken Tweed Jacke!!! Das nenn ich mal ein Gewinner!Weitere gut gekleidete Damen findet ihr heute bei Creadienstag!

EN: For me, this jacket is a complete winner and I still can’t get over how great it looks! The buttons are from John Lewis that I bought in Birmingham in May when I was there on business (not going to lie, I bought 30 GBP worth of buttons and am not embarrassed! HAHAHAH) I’ve been wearing my Julien Jacket from the car to my office, since I finished it, as it works with everything in my closet, including my pink tweed jacket!
