DE: Guten Morgen ihr Lieben! Es ist Schmuddel Wetter und ich musste mich wirklich überwinden dieses Wochenende vor die Tür zu gehen um Fotos zu schießen. Aber ich habe in der letzten Woche gleich 2 neue Sachen genäht und die wollte ich euch auch eigen. Heute zeige ich euch mein erstes MakeNine2019 Projekt, dass ich fertig genäht habe! Der Desmond Backpack von TaylorTailor – und ich bin verliebt.

 

EN: Good morning, everyone! We’re experiencing horrible weather here in Germany and I really needed to motivate myself, to go outside and take pictures of my new projects… but I really wanted to show them to you, so here we are. Today, I’d like to show you my very first finished MakeNine2019 Project! I made the Desmond Backpack, by TaylorTailor – and I love it!

 

DE: Den Desmond Schnitt findet ihr als PDF Download hier, als PDF Hasser kann ich sagen, dass es sich nicht um allzu viele Seiten handelt (zum Glück), die zusammen geklebt und ausgeschnitten werden müssen. Für den Hauptstoff habe ich einen hellblauen Köper mit weißen Punkten verwendet. Den habe ich für dieses Projekt, im Oktober, in Singapur gekauft. Damit der Rucksack seine Form nicht verliert und etwas Stand bekommt, habe ich eine ziemlich feste Vlieseline auf alle Hauptstoff Teile gebügelt.

 

EN: You can find the PDF Pattern here – as a complete PDF hater, I can tell that there aren’t too many pages that need to be assembled and cut out. I used a cotton canvas for this project, that I bought in Singapore last October. (If you live in Birmingham, Barry’s sells a range of polka dot cotton canvas, I even made the Luzerne Trenchcoat out of some of that fabric!) I also ironed on a rather thick interfacing onto all of the shell fabric pieces, so that the backpack keeps it shape.

 

DE: Die Anleitung ist wirklich gut, es gibt außerdem noch ein Sew-Along auf Taylor’s Homepage die etwas kniffelige Schritte besser erläutert. Ich habe die ganzen Zutaten über Amazon bestellt, das Web Band und die Metallteile waren in wenigen Tagen da und ließen sich ziemlich schnell verarbeiten. Ich habe weiße Popeline aus meinem Lager, für das Futter verwendet und finde, das es doch ganz gut aussieht.

 

EN: The instructions are really good and there is even a Sew-Along on Taylore’s homepage that will guide you through the tricky bits of the pattern. I ordered all the hardware and the poly webbing through Amazon and it arrived very quickly, which made me very happy! I used white popeline that I had in my stash for the lining.

 

DE: Mir ist erst im Nachhinein aufgefallen, dass der Rucksack gewisse Ähnlichkeiten mit dem von Cath Kitson hat, wobei meiner natürlich besser aussieht HAHAHAHAHA (Quatsch mit Soße!). Ich habe im Übrigen noch so viel von diesem Stoff übrig, dass ich das ganze Portside Set mit Kulturbeutel aus dem gleichem Stoff nähen werde. Ich mag das sehr gerne wenn meine Sachen farblich zusammenpassen.

 

EN: After finishing my backpack I realized that it looked a bit like the one Cath Kitson sells, I still believe mine looks better HAHAHAH (just kidding!) I actually bought way too much of the polka dot fabric, and will used the rest of it to make my portside duffle. I’m a bit of a nerd that likes it, when things match!

 

DE: Ich hatte ehrlicherweise nicht geglaubt, dass ich im Januar schon anfange Projekte von meiner MakeNine2019 Liste anzugehen…. Ich gehöre zu der „auf-den-letzte-Drücker“ Fraktion und dachte, dass ich kurz vor Weihnachten dann in Panik gerate und dann versuche alles auf einmal zu nähen…Nun ja, ich habe das Portside Set schon plotten lassen und habe den Schnitt schon ausgeschnitten. Mal gucken, ob ich am Wochenende dazu komme…. Oder ob ich mir lieber was zum Anziehen nähe! Euch noch eine schöne Woche! Weitere tolle Kreationen gibt es heute bei Creadienstag!

 

EN: I’m going to be honest, I did not think I would have completed one of my MakeNine2019 projects in January… Generally, I fall under the “last-minute-dot-com” faction and was pretty sure I would remember I about my pledge in December and then attempt to sew all the things in one week. LOL!!! Perhaps, I’m getting older and wiser… anyhow, I’ve had the portside Duffle plotted and I’ve cut out all the bits last night, so I will probably be tackling that next. Unless, I get bored and sew some clothing over the weekend. Wishing you a great rest of the week! =)
