DE: Guten Morgen ihr Lieben und willkommen lieber Juni!!! Ich kann es gar nicht fassen, dass das erste Halbjahr schon vorbei ist, die Zeit vergeht einfach zu schnell! Ich habe in den letzten Wochen sehr viel genäht, nach der #MeMadeMay18 Challenge auf IG, wurde mir klar, dass ich ziemliche Lücken in meinem Kleiderschrank habe und mir vor allem, Röcke und kurzärmlige Oberteile fürs Büro fehlen. Blusen habe ich genug, nur sind sie alle langärmlig….und unser Büro ist sehr warm und hat keine Klimaanlage… nicht die Beste Kombi! Diese Basics werde ich euch in den nächsten Wochen präsentieren, heute gibt es nämlich meine zweite Penny, die kurzärmelig ist und auch im Büro getragen wird!

EN: Good Morning, everyone and hello, dearest June!! I can’t believe that we’ve officially hit the half year mark, time is just flying! I’ve spent the last two weeks sewing quite a few things. After participating in this years’ #MeMadeMay on Instagram I noticed that I still had quite a few gaps in my work wardrobe and that I really need a few short sleeve blouses and skirts. The office I work in is really warm and sitting there 10 hours a day wearing long sleeves is definitely no fun, at all! I promise to share some of my new office attire on my blog in the coming weeks. Today, I wanted to show you my new Penny Dress by Sew Over It, that I also love wearing in the office.

DE: Das Penny Kleid von Sew Over It habe ich bereits schon einmal genäht (hier) und trage es ziemlich oft, weil der Stoff besonders leicht ist und es wie oben erwähnt kurzärmelig ist. Dieses Mal habe ich diese Popeline von Like Sew Amazing verwendet, die dem Kleid etwas mehr stand gibt aber immer noch besonders luftig ist. Genäht habe ich wieder die Größe 10, und habe das Oberteil um 1.5 Zoll verlängert, damit es genau auf meine Taille trifft.

EN: I’ve already sewed up the Penny Dress before (here) and I wear it quite a bit because I love how light the fabric is and because it’s short sleeves… LOL…. This time I sewed up the pattern using the most amazing poplin Palm Print from the online shop of the lovely Sarah http://www.likesewamazing.com. I made the dress up in a size 10 and lengthened the bodice by 1.5 inches so that the bodice hits my natural waist.

DE: Ich habe die Nahtzugaben mit meiner Overlock versäubert und den Ärmel und Rocksäume mit der Hand genäht, damit man die Stiche nicht sieht. Ich mache das wirklich gerne und habe dabei auf Netflix die Deutsche Serie Charité geschaut. Die war erstaunlich gut gemacht, oft empfinde ich Deutsche Serien als besonders Klischeehaft und weniger mitreißend aber von Charité war ich wirklich beeindruckt. Auch haben mir die Kostüme gefallen, vor allem the Uniform der Krankenschwestern. Außerdem, warum sind Hüte eigentlich so aus der Mode gekommen? Ich warte immer noch darauf, dass Netflix die neue Staffel von Queen of the South freigibt… dann wird in meinem Haushalt, weder gekocht noch geputzt noch genäht… bis ich mit allen Folgen durch bin HAHAHAHAH ICH WARTE SCHON EIN JAHR DARAUF!!!!!!!

EN: I finished the seams using my serger and hand sewed the hem of the sleeves and the skirt, to avoid a visible stitches. I really enjoy hand sewing, if I’m perfectly honest. I a actually watched a German TV series called Charité about the Charité Hospital in Berlin, in the late 1900s. It was surprisingly well made, I often cringe through German TV shows, but I can really recommend this one. The costumes were really amazing and I loved the uniform the nurses wore back then… also, why have hats gone out of fashion? Anyway, I am still waiting for (not so) patiently for Netflix to drop the second season of Queen of the South… which of course means that all housework, cooking and sewing will be suspended until I have worked my way through ALL THE EPISODES!!! Hahahahahah
