DE: Guten Morgen ihr Lieben! Ich hoffe ihr hattet alle ein schönes langes Pfingstwochenende und das ihr euch schön entspannen konntet! Ich habe das Wochenende bei meiner Mutter in Wien verbracht und habe vor allem lauter Süßspeisen gegessen. Da das Wetter weiterhin so schön ist und ich relativ wenig Sommerkleider für daheim habe, dachte ich, dass ich mich mal um diese Lücke in meinem Schrank kümmern sollte.

EN: Good Morning, everyone! I hope you’ve had an excellent week so far, we had a public holiday on Monday, and I spent the weekend at my mum’s in Vienna, eating all the sweet things. Since the weather is continuously being glorious, I’ve noticed, that I don’t really have a lot of sundresses to wear at home (unless you count my old unflattering, ratty ones or sewing fails I have yet to chuck!)… and decided to rectify this gap in my closet.

DE: Genäht habe ich das Jessica Kleid von Mimi G, ein Kleid, was es umsonst gibt, wenn man sich ihren Newsletter abonniert (TUE ES!!). Auch hatte ich ständig JESSICA….JESSICA?! mit der Stimme von David Tenant im Kopf (solltest du auch Jessica Jones gucken, hast du das jetzt bestimmt auch.. LOL!) als ich das Kleid genäht habe. Ich denke dieses Kleid, wird man nicht in der Garderobe von Jessica Jones finden… Zu bunt und zu mädchenhaft!

EN: I decided to make up the Jessica Dress by Mimi G, a free pattern you receive, when you sign up to her newsletter! (DO IT!). While making up this dress I kept hearing JESSICA…. JESSICA!? In David Tenant’s voice in my head (and if you’ve ever watch Jessica Jones…. You are now hearing his voice in your head as well! LOL) I’m pretty sure you won’t find this dress in Jeassica’s wardrobe, as it is too colorful and feminine…. LOL

DE: Genäht habe ich es aus einem Baumwoll-Leinen-Gemisch von Fabric Godmother, das ich vor genau einem Jahr gekauft hatte. Mir haben die Affen in den Palmen so gut gefallen, aber ich wusste dann nicht, was ich mit dem Stoff machen sollte, da er etwas steif ist… und weil da Affen drauf sind UUPPS! Als ich dann den Schnitt von Mimi G sah, dachte ich mir…genauso was brauchst du und du hast sogar den richtigen Stoff dafür!

EN: I used a linen-cotton-mix from Fabric Godmother, that I bought exactly a year ago. When I bought I was really excited about the fabric and then I was stumped with what to make with it. The fabric is a bit stiff and there are… monkey on it which made deciding on a pattern rather difficult. However, once I saw the Mimi G pattern , I knew I what I was going to do with those monkeys!

DE: Genäht habe ich Jessica (JESSICA!!! Ok, ok ich höre auf…) in Größe M, ich warne euch aber, das Kleid fällt etwas groß aus…ich habe gewartet, bis ich alles fertig genäht hatte (die Belege miteinbegriffen) um es anzuprobieren…und war dann sehr enttäuscht das es aussah wie ein nasser Sack…. Ich hab es in de Ecke gepfeffert… wo es dann eine Woche lag. Zunächst musst ich das Oberteil vom Rock abtrennen und dann die Seiten jeweils um 2 cm enger nähen….den Rock musste ich noch einmal kräuseln und dann war aber schon alles erledigt. Ich habe Knöpfe von Misan verwendet, die ich letztes Jahr gekauft hatte, als ich in London war.

EN: I sew up Jessica ( JESSICA!!!! Ok, ok… I’ll stop now!) in a size M, please note that the pattern is quite big, which I only noticed after putting the entire dress together…including the facings… SIGH….needless to say I chucked the dress in a corner in my sewing room, where it remained for an entire week. I then decided to put on my big girl socks and took the dress apart and took in the bodice by 2 cms on both sides. I regathered the skirt and then reassembled everything. I used buttons I bought at Misan, last year, when I was in London.

DE: Ich bin mir immer noch nicht so ganz schlüssig was die Länge des Kleides angeht und von dem gekräuselten Rock bin ich auch noch nicht so überzeugt.. meine besser Hälfte meinte nur “Warum macht dieses Kleid so dicke Hüften??” LOL….nichts desto trotz, habe ich das Kleid jetzt schon ein Paar mal angehabt und werde es den restlichen Sommer mit Sicherheit regelmäßig anziehen! EN: As fort he finished dress, I’m not sure about the Midi-length or the gathered skirt. When the Mister was taking my pics he asked: “Why does this dress make your hips look so big” Lol… not the most flattering comment ever! That beieng said, I’ve worn the dress quite a few times to run errands and to hang out at home and I have feeling it will get quite a bit of wear all through summer.
