DE: Guten Morgen ihr Lieben! Den Januar haben wir ENDLICH bezwungen und ich hoffe der Februar wird ein etwas entspannter Monat. Mich hält die Arbeit seit Wochen auf Trab und ich freue mich schon, wenn Ende Februar alles wieder ruhiger wird… und ich wieder mehr Zeit zum nähen habe. Heute wollte ich euch das erste Kleid des diesjährigen PDF Clubs von Sew Over It, dem Charlotte Dress vorstellen.

EN: Good morning everyone! I can’t believe that we’ve FINALLY conquered January.. seriously, was that the longest month ever, or what?? I’m hoping February will be good and not cause me too many challenges, work has been keeping me on my toes for weeks and I am really looking forward to things calming down at the end of the month and having more time to sew. Today I’d like to show off my brand new Charlotte Dress, which is the first pattern of the 2018 Sew Over It PDF Club.

DE: Kommen wir zuerst zu meinem Kleid! Ich bin begeistert von Schnitt, ich finde es toll, dass SOI nun auch etwas anspruchsvollere Schnitte für ihren PDF Club auf den Markt bringt. Ich finde den Ausschnitt etwas ungewöhnlich aber unheimlich schön und der Rock des Kleides mit den Kellerfalten ist sowohl feminin als auch schick SO MAG ICH DAS!!!! Das Kleid hat auch noch Schnittmuster Teile für einen Gürtel und Gürtelschlaufen. Ich habe den Gürtel genäht, fand aber, dass das Kleid fast besser ohne den Gürtel aussieht, weshalb ich ihn dann weggelassen habe.

EN: I adore this pattern and I am so pleased, that SOI are releasing some more advanced patterns in their PDF Club. I love the unusual neckline and the wonderful pleated skirt, THIS IS HOW I LIKE IT!! The dress also comes with pattern pieces for a belt and belt loops, I actually made up the belt and then decided I preferred the dress without the belt, after all.

DE: Da ich wollte, dass das Kleid etwas anliegender im Oberteil ist, habe ich mich an die fertigen Maßen gehalten und die gewählt die am nächsten zu meinen Maßen waren (Größe 10). Genäht habe ich Charlotte, aus Beeren farbenem  Krepp aus meinem Stofflager,(oh man wie viele Kleidungsstücke habe ich mittlerweile in dieser Farbe genäht??) den ich im Herbst bei Classic Textiles in London gekauft habe. Ich muss Grundsätzlich bei SOI immer das Oberteil um 1 Inch verlängern, ich habe mir aber das Foto von Lisa angesehen und festgestellt, dass das Taillenband unter ihrer Taille liegt und habe deshalb entschieden nichts an dem Schnitt zu verändern.

EN: As I wanted the bodice to be a little bit more fitted, I used the finished measurements of the garment and Chose the ones that were closest to mine (size 10). I chose a berry colour triple crepe from my stash, I got at Classic Textiles in London last autumn, which I had originally wanted to make Palazzo Pants with.. LOL…what on earth was I thinking??? I usually lengthen the bodice by 1 Inch for all SOI Patterns, but when I studied Lisa’s photo I noticed, that the waistband was below her waistline, which I why I did not alter the pattern.

DE: Die Konstruktion war ziemlich simpel, die Fotoanleitungen von SOI sind sehr verständlich und das Kleid hatte ich dann auch recht schnell zusammen genäht. Ich weiß immer, wenn ich einen Schnitt sehr gerne habe… dann wechsel ich die Fadenfarbe bei meiner Overlock.. das habe ich auch hier gemacht! Den farblich dazu passenden verdeckten Reißverschluss hatte ich auch noch in meinem Lager und der rundet das ganze Kleid schön ab. Ich habe sowohl die Ärmel als auch den Saum per Hand genäht und dabei die letzten Folgen Godless auf Netflix geschaut, was für eine ausgezeichnete Serie über den Wilden Westen, in dem es nur Frauen gibt! (!!!). SCHAUT ES EUCH AN!!!

EN: The construction of the dress was very straightforward, the instructions come with photos, that make it very easy to put everything together. I always know, when I really love a pattern, because I go all out and rethread my overlocker, which is what I did here, as well! HAHAHAHA I used an invisible zip in a matching colour from my stash, which went in on the first try (seriously, I am getting better at this!!) I decided to  hand sew the hem of the sleeves and the skirt while watching the last two episodes of Godless on Netflix. What a crazy, brilliant series about women in the Wild, Wild West!! GO AND CHECK IT OUT!!!

DE: Mein Fazit für den Schnitt ist, dass ich Charlotte liebe. Ich habe schon diverse Ideen, wie ich das Kleid das nächste Mal verändern möchte, vielleicht verlängere ich das Oberteil und schneide das Taillenband etwas schmaler zu oder ich nähen einen Bleistiftrock anstatt den Kellerfaltenrock! =) Ich freue mich jetzt schon! Weitere sehr kreative Damen findet ihr übrigens heute auch unter RUMS.

EN: Right, my last thoughts about this dress.. I LOVE IT!!!! I already have loads of ideas on how to hack it!! I’m thinking I might lengthen the bodice and make the waistband more narrow.. or add a pencil skirt instead of the pleated skirt… WATCH THIS SPACE!! Whishing you an excellent rest of the week!
