DE: Ich war über Ostern, mit meiner besseren Hälfte in London unterwegs und in ALLEN Geschäften findet man nun Oberteile und Kleider mit diesen neuen, verspielten  Ärmel. Ich muss gestehen, als ich dass zum ersten Mal vor einigen Monaten sah, war ich überhaupt nicht beeindruckt und fand dass diesen Trend zum Teil etwas albern… aber mittlerweile habe ich mich damit angefreundet. Als Judith von Judith Dee’s World dieses Bild von Ihrem Osterkleid auf IG hochlud, war dann endgültig für mich klar, dass ich so ein Kleid in meinem Schrank gebrauchen tät und bestellte das Muster Simplicity 8292.

EN: The Mister and I spent Easter in London and while walking down Bond street, I couldn’t help but notice that every RTW shop was currently selling top and dresses with interesting sleeves. Now, I will not lie, when I first was the exaggerate sleeves and bell sleeves a number of months ago, I was not impressed and even felt, that they looked a bit ridiculous, however I have since changed my mind. When I saw the Easter Dress Judith from Judith Dee’s World uploaded onto IG I was sold and quickly ordered the pattern Simplicity 8292.

DE: Den Stoff habe ich von Birmingham Stoffmarkt, es handelt sich hier um einen Viskosestoff, der für läppische 2 GBP der Meter vertickt wurde. Ich nähe nicht oft mit Schnittmustern von Simplicity habe mich aber für die fertigen Masse auf dem Umschlag entschieden, was auch die richtige Wahl war. Ich habe die Größe 12 und Version C gewählt und ohne irgendwelche Änderung genäht. Für das nächste Mal würde ich wahrscheinlich für das Oberteil and den Seitennähten eine Nahtzugabe von 1 cm anstatt von 1.5 nutzen, da  das Oberteil ein kleines bisschen spannt, vielleicht, ändere ich das sogar noch diese Woche ab. Ich habe die Ärmel einmal durch meine Overlock gezogen und dann festgenäht,Ich muss gestehen mit dem Saum  bin ich nicht ganz zufrieden und überlege ob ich mir nicht so einen Spezialfuss zulege, der ganze schmale Säume macht.

EN: I used a Viscose I bought at the Birmingham Rag Market a few weeks ago for 2 GBP a meter. I cannot claim to have sewn up a lot of Simplicity patterns, but I will tell you, that I used the finished measurements on the cover and sewed a size 12 and version C without any alterations. The fit is pretty spot on, next time I’d use a 1 cm seam allowance instead of a 1.5 cm  seam allowance on the bodice, as it is a little tight. I might actually fix that sometime this week. I overlocked the sleeves and then stitched them down, I thought I had a babyhem foot, but as it turns out, I don’t. This might be worth an investment, as I feel that the hem is a bit weird looking =/

DE: Ein kleines Malheur hatte ich dann doch, ich habe einen billigen Reißverschluss benutzt, was ein fataler Fehler war….Ich habe erst einmal 4 Anläufe gebraucht um den Reißverschluss einzunähen, und dann als ich das Kleid angezogen habe, ist der Reißverschluss endgültig kaput gegangen und ich musste mich aus meinem Kleid herausschneiden…UNGELOGEN!!!! Ich bin sicher, hätte mich jemand dabei beobachtet, er hätte sicherlich gelacht, ich habe nur geflucht und mir versprochen nur noch Reißverschlüsse von YKK zu benutzen. Im Grossen und ganzen bin ich sehr zufrieden mit meinem neuem Kleid, ich liebe die Ärmel und der Stoff ist auch mal eine schöne Abwechselung von den vielen Pastel- lastigen Sachen die ich in den letzten Wochen genäht habe. Manchmal braucht man einfach eine Abwechselung.

EN: Of Course it wouldn’t be a typical Bianca make without a little bit of a disaster, I sewed in a cheap zip that took 4 attempts to install and when I finally put the dress on the zip broke and I had to literally cut myself out of the dress. I KID YOU NOT! I am sure, if anyone was watching me do that, they’d have a good laugh, I was not impressed and did a lot of swearing…and promised myself that from now on, I would only use the zips from YKK. I really love my new dress, I love the playful sleeves and the fabric is a nice departure from all the pastel garments I’ve sewn up in the past few weeks. Sometimes you just need a bit of a change.
