I know that the thought of making a ballgown or a cocktail dress can be daunting, I myself have only now decided on a pattern, and have yet to toile it or decided on a fabric…..So  a great alternative would be to make a cute accessory instead!

I made these bow purses using a pattern from the very first Love Sewing Magazine. For the lavender purse I used this luxury crepe, and for the blue one, this cobalt triple crepe and this Michael Miller Fabric for the lining. I sewed the whole purse in less than an hour, which makes it a quick an satisfying make.

What I really liked about the purses, was that they will go really well with my dress for the ball but also work perfectly well with my current work wardrobe.

Will you be going to The Dressmakers Ball?
